Stoddard, who believed that the heart and soul of business must be in its service department, with a dedicated in-house body shop. Over the years, Stoddard, an automotive engineer, expanded his "anything foreign" focus to include the British Motor Corporation family of vehicles, including MG, Magnette, Midget & Sprite, Austin, Austin Healey, Morris, Mini, and Riley, in addition to Alfa Romero, Porsche, and Lancia. Later, during the imported car boom and by the early 1960s, other franchises were added including Jaguar, Fiat, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, Volvo, Facel Vega, Toyota, Sunbeam Alpine and Imp, Elva, Abarth, Morgan, Berkley, Yamaha, and Vespa, for a total of about 30 nameplates. The dealership continued to mature and prosper thanks to top-quality cars with long-term import potential. Stoddard Imported Cars eventually invested in several acres of commercial property, and Stoddard designed and built the foundations of the dealership, which was gradually increased and expanded to more than 45,000 square feet. Through many successful years of business and after many changes in the foreign car market, Stoddard Imported Cars Inc. became one of only 13 original Porsche dealers in the U.S. to become franchised as a Porsche/Audi dealer, and that is our focus today. Today, Jerry Severin and Pat DiCesare (formerly of Metro Lexus), along with Brian Davis and Brett Goldberg, maintain the tradition of leading sales and service started by Stoddard more than 50 years ago.
